With an extensive background in financial analysis and education in investment management, Scott joined Hayashi Wayland in 2013. Scott is a CFA Charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute. The CFA designation is globally recognized and attests to a Charterholder’s success in a rigorous and comprehensive study program in the field of investment management and analysis.

He feels great satisfaction in helping clients find comfort in preparing for retirement. Helping people understand the risks of investing and creating a balanced investment plan that they are comfortable with, makes his work not a job, but rather a satisfying career.

Scott’s diverse background:
Scott’s financial career brings a unique perspective to clients. He was employed with CNA Financial for nine years as an underwriter in the Corporate Governance Department. He performed fundamental analysis for Fortune 500 companies assessing the business model, financial stability and how management’s decisions affect shareholder value. From this big-picture realm, he helps clients with the small details that will help them achieve their financial goals.

Community-minded:
In addition to helping clients, Scott helps the community in a natural way ─ literally. Scott currently sits on the board of the Hartnell College Foundation.

After work, Scott pursues his passion for sailing. He belongs to the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club. A devoted family man, he can also be found with his wife, and three children enjoying biking, hiking and camping.
