Stephanie was drawn to Hayashi Wayland because of its strong presence in the local community and its reputation as being the best local accounting firm. After attending HW’s annual CSUMB mixer, she heard many positive experiences from employees. She applied for an internship for the summer and received a full-time offer to start in January after her internship ended in August.
During her first year of employment, she was able to study and pass all four parts of the CPA exam, and is now working in the firm’s audit department, focusing on the firm’s agriculture and for-profit clients.
“One benefit of working at HW is the opportunity to design your own career. Co-workers who I interned with or started around the same time all have different experiences: some focus on finance, some on government audits, some on tax. HW appreciates that everyone has different interests and skill sets. HW encourages its employees to find areas for which they have a true passion.”
