A133 Audits – Government Agencies
If your local government expends more than $500,000 per year in federal funds, then you are required to undergo a Single Audit (also known as an A-133 audit or a Compliance audit).The purpose of this audit is to provide assurance to the U.S. government that the monies distributed to your organization are being properly spent according to Federal guidelines. The audit is to be prepared by an independent Certified Public Accounting firm and the results of the audit are submitted to the federal government.
